CalcMonkey is free math games and math help for kids, teens and adults, made by Calc Monkey LLC. This page explains, in plain language, what information we keep and how you stay in control.
The short version: kids can play without an account and without giving us any personal information. If a parent chooses to sign in to save progress, we keep the parent’s email address and the game progress — never a child’s name, email, photo or location. We don’t sell anyone’s information, and you can delete your account and saved progress at any time.
Playing without an account
Anyone can play CalcMonkey without signing up. Game progress — bananas, XP, your monkey’s outfit and name, adventure trips, best scores and Big Brain Lab stars — is saved only in your own web browser on your own device (using your browser’s local storage). It is not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s data erases it.
Parent accounts (optional)
A parent or guardian, 18 or older, may sign in to save progress and use it on other devices. Accounts are for grown-ups; children should not create accounts. When a parent signs in, we keep:
- The parent’s sign-in details — the email address. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase; we never see them.
- Game progress — the same game items listed above, plus the date it was last saved.
The monkey’s name is a nickname for the game character. Please don’t use a child’s real name there.
Children’s privacy
CalcMonkey is designed for children, and we follow the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Kids can play every game without giving any personal information, and only a parent or guardian may create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us at info@calcmonkey.com and we will delete it.
How we use information
- To save game progress and load it on your devices.
- To let you sign in, reset a forgotten password, and delete your account.
- To count visits in total — such as how many people visit each day and which pages and games are most popular — so we know what to improve. These counts are anonymous and never identify a child or anyone else.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use a child’s information for advertising.
Services we use
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores parent sign-ins and saved progress for us. Firebase only loads when a parent opens “Save progress.” Firebase privacy information.
- Netlify hosts the website and, like any web host, processes basic technical information (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits for us in total (pages viewed, the general country, device type and the website a visitor came from). It does not use cookies to track visitors, does not build a profile of anyone, and is not used for advertising. About Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces used on the site.
Advertising
CalcMonkey does not show ads today. If we add ads in the future, we will update this policy first, and any ads shown to children will follow COPPA rules (no personalized or behavioral ads for kids).
Deleting your information
- Parent account: open ☁️ Saved at the top of CalcMonkey and choose “Delete this account and its saved progress.” This removes the account and the saved progress right away.
- Progress on a device: clear the browser’s site data for calcmonkey.com.
- Or email info@calcmonkey.com and we’ll delete it for you.
Security
Saved progress is protected so that each signed-in parent can read and change only their own family’s data. Information travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date below. Questions? Email info@calcmonkey.com.
